Presidential aspirant Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso remains unperturbed by supposed endorsements given to his rivals by various organizations and religious groups because he believes he is on his way to getting the most important endorsement of all—that of the Filipino people.
“The most important endorsement I want to get is from the ordinary Juan dela Cruz, Petra, Maria, the people on the street, the people at home, the people who will actually join to install their president,” Moreno said.
“So that’s the endorsement I want—the people’s endorsement. I am not bothered [by rivals getting endorsed], as long as the people are there [for us], the silent majority is there. We feel them and we are happy,” he added.
The 47-year-old Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer made the statement when asked about his reaction after the leader of the religious group El Shaddai endorsed the presidential bid of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Domagoso noted how, since Day 1 of the official campaign period, he has been mobbed by droves of people—from all ages and all walks of life.
“You see I am thankful the people themselves spend when we motorcade. They give us food, water, rosary, religious items, flowers—they really spend. So, very heartwarming,” Domagoso said.
“As long as we continue, no one will give up, the fight will continue, and we will find real solutions and quick action that will benefit the people,” he added.
Domagoso said he is open to all kinds of support he can get, including endorsements from any group, due to the enormity of the challenges that his campaign faces, including being an underdog and a candidate without a political pedigree to speak of.
“I’m always open to help. I need all kinds of help. I desperately need help, and I believe it’s not all too late until election day. If the religious organizations help, it will be welcomed,” he said.
