Net25 welcomed the New Year with a new show that features the children of the late Comedy King Dolphy. Wittingly titled Quizon CT or Quizon Comedy Theater, the gag show premiered on Jan. 9.
Starring Eric, Epy and Vandolph Quizon, the gag show also includes Vandolph’s wife Jenny Quizon, Martin Escudero, Bearwin Meily, Gene Padilla, Garry Lim, Tanya, Charuth, and beauty queen Billie Hakenson.
Eric, who also directs the program along with Epy, said that Quizon CT is their tribute to the memory of their late father.
“We tried to pitch the program to different networks, but it was Net25 who showed great interest in the concept. The show itself honors our father and his brand of comedy,” he said during the show’s virtual junket held last week.
“So, nakakataba ng puso na hanggang ngayon ay buhay pa ang tatay ko in terms of comedy. He is still alive terms of making people laugh,” Epy said in turn.
According to Vandolph, there is a segment in the show where they try to imitate and recreate Dolphy’s memorable skits on the screen. Called “Dolphy Classics,” it allows them to relive their father’s funny sketches.
“It’s our way to reminisce and emulate din, and at the same time, pagbibigay tribute sa mga ginawa ni Daddy,” the young Quizon said.
Quizon CT airs on Net 25 every Sunday at 8:00 p.m., after Aga Muhlach’s Tara, Game, Agad Agad game show.
