Book launch presents 22 titles written in various local languages

The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) published this month a collection of 22 books written in various local languages.

In an event held on Dec. 16 at the Bulwagang Romualdez in Malacañang Palace, KWF publicly presented the new titles to highlight Philippine literature as proof that the Filipino language can be effective in conveying both creative and intellectual pursuits.

The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) launched a total of 22 titles written in various local languages.

“It is a way of storing knowledge in various disciplines and to underscore  that Filipino is the language of writing and research,” KWF noted in vernacular.

Here is the list of books launched: Babasahing Pangkasarian (Moreal Camba, editor), Bungsod nga Gipangguba (Sulpicio Osorio), Lingguwistikong Etnograpiya (Wikang Asi), Lingguwistikong Etnograpiya (Wikang Bikol), Lingguwistikong Etnograpiya (Wikang Iguwak), Birtuwal: Mga Bago at Piling Tula (Gerome Dela Peña), Ugnayan: kaisipan, Kalinangan, Lipunan (Voltaire Villanueva), Nananalamin: Tatlong Dulang Sumasalamin sa Kontemporaneong Pamilya (Sonny Valencia), Mahiwagang Bulong sa Sinapupunan ng Himpapawid (Raul Funilas), Cubao Ilalim: Unang aklat (Tony Perez), Labas: Mga Dula sa Labas ng Sentro (Reuel M. Aguila), Diskors Pangmidya at Literatura (Teresita Fortunato), Batang Mandirigma at Lima pang Dula (Arthur P. Casanova), Mga Kuwentong-bayan ng Timog Cordillera (Jimmy B. Fong), Problemang Mindanao: Ugat at Pag-unawa (Abraham P. Sakili), Manwal ng Bahay-wika, Padayon sa Pagtindog (John Iremil Teodoro, ed.), Patnubay sa Korespondensiya Opisyal, Kalipunan ng mga Dulang Akdang Mindanawon (Arthur P. Casanova), Kulintangan at Gandingan (Mubarak M. Tahir), Margosatubig (Ramon Muzones), and Mga Salawikaing Pampolitika (Sheilee Vega).

The book launch also streamed on the Facebook pages of Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM), National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino.
