Presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. continues to dominate polls after he again took the lead in the face-to-face election survey conducted by popular radio station DZRH of the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC).
Marcos, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer, got 49.2% of the votes from the 7,614 respondents in the survey. In far second was Vice President Leni Robredo with 16.2%, followed by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso with 10.4%.
In fourth was Sen. Manny Pacquiao with 8.2%; Sen. Bong Go with 5.8%; Sen. Ping Lacson with 4.9%; Ret. Gen. Antonio Parlade with 0.5%; and labor leader Leody de Guzman with 0.3%.
DZRH also noted that 4.5% of the respondents were undecided.
Nerisa Nunag, MBC research director, said the “Desisyon 2022” face-to-face election survey was conducted in 17 regions covering Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on December 11-12.
Nunag believes the influential Solid North voting bloc still holds sway and is responsible for Marcos Jr.’s big lead against other aspirants, especially in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and Ilocos Region.
Marcos’ performance in recent surveys also showed that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s decision to become his running-mate helped create a synergistic tandem.
This complementary effect was evident in the wide margin of lead Marcos registered in the Davao region and Cagayan Valley, according to the DZRH survey.
Marcos also obtained the lion’s share of votes in Mindanao, with 56% choosing him compared to Robredo’s 13.5%.
Nunag explained that respondents in their F2F survey were all registered voters, and the question they were asked was: “If the election were held today, who would you vote for?”
“We gave a sample ballot. There, written were the running candidates… The respondents, they are the ones who shade the chosen candidate,” Nunag said.
The BBM-Sara Uniteam is espousing a unifying style of leadership that sees unity as the path to progress and the country’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the UniTeam’s excellent performance in recent surveys and the massive crowds they are drawing in every sortie, both candidates have remained humble and have chosen to stick with positive campaigning, their camp said in a statement.
