45 police chiefs, station heads in Northern Mindanao reshuffled

Cagayan de Oro City—Forty-five police chiefs in Northern Mindanao region have been reshuffled to avoid “overfamiliarity,” which the police organization believes could hamper an officer’s effectiveness in the job.

Brig. Gen. Rolando Anduyan, director of Police Regional Office-10, said the realignment covers the positions of chief of police or station commanders of municipal police stations in cities and provincial levels.

“The said realignment is to prevent familiarization of their area of responsibility that causes them ineffective in the performance of their duty and also it’s for their career enhancement to hone their leadership skills even if they are outside in their comfort zone. It is my desire to aspire for excellence and make PRO-10 as one among the best regional police offices nationwide,” Anduyan said.

Anduyan said the reshuffling begun on Dec. 16. The province with the most number of reshuffled officers is Misamis Oriental with 11, followed by Bukidnon with nine.

Anduyan urged the police personnel to extend their “utmost commitment and support” to their new police chiefs and commanders.

He also ordered the chiefs of police and station commanders to “prove their worth” by accepting the challenges that may be encountered “in pursuing better services to people wherever they will be assigned.”

PRO-10 has also asked the public to support their local police units “since without it the efforts of the police force will be wasted.”
