Magical floats with over a hundred Christmas characters, marching bands and dancers in lighted costumes, and Santa Claus himself bring holiday cheer to mall-goers at SM Mall of Asia.
The mall’s annual Grand Festival of Lights showcases bright, colorful floats and spectacular shows, happening every Saturday of December, as well as yesterday, Christmas Day.
The parade starts along the North Arcade and ends at SM by the Bay with a stunning drone show featuring 100 drones set to music, lighting up the sky.
Participating floats include those from Coke Studio, Nickelodeon, PLDT, Smart, Lady’s Choice, The SM Store, SM Hypermarket, and Toy Kingdom. SM Mall of Asia’s Tram express also delight the audience.
Joining in the festivities are Santa’s magical friends, Leo the Lion, Hailey the Hippo, Gerry the Giraffe, Macky the Monkey, Cyril the Squirrel, Benny the Bunny, Elly the Elephant, Hanna the Panda, and Sebi the Zebra.
The merrymaking at SM Mall of Asia continues with meet-and-greet sessions with Santa Claus on weekends, as he makes special appearances throughout the holiday season at the Central Atrium. Kids can whisper their Christmas wishes as they sit on Santa’s lap or they can also write down and send their list at the Santa Mail at the Main Mall drop off.
Mall-goers are also in for a special surprise as they take seflies and stories with the 60-foot MOA Christmas tree at the Central Atrium or the 30-foot gigantic MOA Santa and reindeers at the Main Mall drop off fronting Chowking.
Making this holiday brighter, the MOA indoor lights show happens every Monday to Friday at 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday at 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Shoppers can still spread the joy for only P200 pesos. The SM Bears of Joy lets them have a cute cuddly bear to keep, while another one will be donated to make a child happy at the chosen beneficiary, Bahay Tuluyan.
