Believing that the hope of the nation rests on the young, Ngayon Na, Kabataan was conceptualized to support the Knights of Rizal’s thrust to intensify programs that will spread ideals and teachings of the exemplary life of our national hero Jose Rizal with trainings and exposure projects aimed at character building, servant leadership, enlightened nationalism, and dedicated service to our country and people.

Maria Rachelle Gerodias has a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Literature from the famed Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and performs regularly to audiences here and abroad.

An award-winning soprano, she has landed leading roles in numerous opera productions in the United States, Japan, here in the Philippines, and other Asian countries. She also has the distinction of being the first Filipina to be invited to lead roles in important opera houses such as the Volksoper Wein in Vienna and the Daegu Opera House in South Korea and to collaborate with famed Italian opera singer Mirella Freni.

For the Ngayon Na, Kabataan concert, Gerodias says, “Audiences can expect opera arias, some from Broadway, and some OPM songs. We are singing a lot of familiar songs, so this isn’t just for opera lovers.”

This is a perfect opportunity for music lovers, in general, to spend a magical evening so close to Christmas with these amazing talents.

The concert will also feature Gerodias’ husband, Korean baritone Byeong In Park. Trained under the great tenor Francisco Araiza at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, Germany, Park had been a guest soloist at the Graz Opera Theater performing roles in La Boheme and Lohengrin, and Hansel and Gretel. In 2014, he debuted in Singapore in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte at The Esplanade Theater.

This extraordinary dinner-concert will be memorable to audiences looking for something special to see this holiday season. They can expect to hear a glorious rendition of “The Prayer” from Gerodias in a duet with one of the concert’s special guests, Atty. Joey Lina, former senator and now president of The Manila Hotel. Park, whose booming baritone is a sure audience pleaser, also hopes to impress everyone with his take on some Filipino songs.

Other special guests at the concert are Atty. Mike Toledo, and The Bayanihan, the National Folk Dance Company of the Philippines; with the special participation of Gino Padilla.

Tickets or table reservations are available at The Manila Hotel. A special room rate of only P5,300 nett for an overnight stay on Dec. 15 at The Manila Hotel is available to ticket holders. For inquiries, please call 8527-0011 loc. 1273.
