A bettor in Cavite got the best birthday and Christmas gift ever after winning the P50.3-million Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot on Sunday night, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said Wednesday.
PCSO General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma said the 65-year-old bettor, who has nasopharyngeal cancer, had been purchasing lotto tickets for 30 years, claimed her prize from the Office of the General
Manager at the agency’s main office in Mandaluyong City.
“She has nasopharyngeal cancer. She is a recipient of chemotherapy assistance from PCSO. She did not expect that she will get a winning check. The winner had a lucky pick because she is celebrating her birthday next week,” Garma told reporters.
The winner told Garma that she plans to get treatment for her illness and help her family.
The lucky bettor, who bought the winning ticket from a lotto outlet in Baclaran, picked the winning combination of 35-38-09-17-10-15 with a corresponding prize of (P50,305,924) which was drawn on Dec. 1.
She was given a LandBank check after she presented the winning ticket and valid government-issued identification cards.
There were 10 bettors, who almost hit the jackpot, correctly guessing five of the six-digit winning combination, getting a consolation prize of P70,000 each.
The 6/49 Super Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
