Cebuana Lhuillier-backed RP Blu Girls’ and RP Blu Boys’ continue their winning streak at the ongoing 30th Southeast Asian Games last Tuesday with the RP Blu Girls overpowering their Indonesian opponents at 11-1 and the RP Blu Boys prevailing over Indonesia at 7-3.
“The boys’ and girls’ came well-prepared for the SEA Games, eager to win that gold medal again for the country but what makes this more satisfying is that they get a chance to prove their mettle in front of their countrymen,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, president of Cebuana Lhuillier and ASAPHIL.
“I’m excited to see how this plays out and based from their respective performances today, the future looks bright,” he added.
The Blu Boys will be up against their Singaporean counterparts tomorrow while the Blu Girls will face their Thai foes at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.
The Philippines Women’s National Softball Team is nicknamed “Blu Girls”. They are governed by the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines.
The Philippines is the best teams in Southeast Asia having won the gold medal in every edition of the Southeast Asian Games which offered women’s softball.
