Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—Mayor Ralph Lantion here said transport tricycles will be distributed to the 25 barangays in this town to boost their resources.
He said the 25 units of 11-seater, diesel-powered trikes will be given to the barangays to boost their capabilities during disaster relief and rescue operations and mobilization for their barangay affairs.
Two of the trikes were recently delivered to the local government, witnessed by Lantion and other municipal officials and employees.
“This is expected to be distributed soon to our barangays who will also cater to our elderly and disabled persons needing free rides,” he said.
The trikes, Lantion said, will also be used for peace and order activities of barangay officials, such as day and night patrols in their respective communities, to ward off suspected criminals.
The mayor said he personally funded the trikes, valued at P258,000 each, as they are expected to replace the old and damaged multi-cab vehicles issued to the barangays in the past years.
Providing the trikes is part of Lantion’s “BOOM Bayombong” local governance agenda for a better, progressive and peaceful municipality, which is the capital town of Nueva Vizcaya.
