Back for the first time on the big screen after a four-year hiatus since 2015, the hustle at the magnificent Crawley house is one of three Special Presentation films at the festival.

Fans and festival-goers were also treated to appearances by  Stone, actor and guitarist of Taiwanese rock band  Mayday; American make-up effects artist  Barney Burman; Australian soprano  Jassy Husk; and local media personalities Denise Tan and  Dick Lee who were here to support this landmark edition of the festival.

Froggatt returns as beloved lady’s maid to the Crawleys in the film, a role that earned her a Golden Globe and three Emmy nominations over the six-series television run. Picking up right where they left off, the film follows the adventures of the Crawleys as they rush to get the Abbey fit for royalty – a grand visit from the King and Queen of England.

A leading international film festival in Southeast Asia and a paragon of Singapore’s arts and cultural scene, the 30th SGIFF continues to be a discovery ground and champion of independent cinema in the region.

Running until Dec. 1, SGIFF is hosted across multiple festival venues, including Capitol Theatre, National Museum of Singapore, National Gallery Singapore, Oldham Theatre, The Projector, Filmgarde Bugis+, Golden Village Grand and Objectifs Centre for Photography & Filmmaking.

SGIFF is an event of the Singapore Media Festival (SMF), hosted by the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA).
