For its first Christmas since rebranding, Araneta City, formerly Araneta Center, opens anew its Christmas Parolan.
Parolan in Araneta City returns this year to its home at the Farmers Market Parking, along Gen. MacArthur Ave. It’s a bazaar where shoppers can buy Christmas items and rekindle the spirit of Christmas.
Stores at Christmas Parolan offer the best bargain for Christmas décor. Christmas trees go for as low as P300 to as much as P7,000, while lanterns are sold for as low as P300 to as much as P5,000. Some merchants also offer discounts.
Some vendors also customize the color of the lights of the lanterns as well as the decors on garlands and Christmas trees. “Labor costs depend on how much your heart can give,” Araneta City said in a statement.
Families and barkadas may also dine within the area surrounded by lights and décor. A line of stalls sells traditional Filipino holiday delicacies puto bumbong and bibingka, as well other favorite street food items barbecue, chicharon, lugaw and other soups, and the iconic empanada from Ilocos.
