Cashalo, a fintech platform that provides access to purpose-built financial services to create a more financially inclusive future for all Filipinos, joined Finovation 2019, an industry-wide forum on financial literacy and inclusion organized by eCompareMo.
Themed “Real Solutions, Real Problems,” the forum brought together key industry experts, policymakers and stakeholders, to discuss the most pressing challenges faced by Filipino consumers in the financial services sphere.
As part of the “Consumer Insights” panel discussion, Cashalo General Manager Hamilton Angluben shed light on the benefits of digital credit solutions and how making these accessible contributes to financial inclusivity.
Angluben also pointed out the urgency of raising the level of financial literacy, which will help Filipinos become more responsible borrowers and better decision-makers in financial matters.
Cashalo, through its national grassroots financial literacy, CashAcademy, provides every Juan access to online and offline learning resources on basic financial knowledge and entrepreneurship.
Ultimately, the panel discussion highlighted that financial inclusion and education must go hand in hand for greater impact at an individual and national level.
This is supported by BSP, along with government and private stakeholders, who upholds an enabling environment and regulatory approach that encourages innovation and transformation.
