Filipino Inventors Society Producer Cooperative founder and president Francisco “Popoy” Pagayon received three recognitions on his birth week.
Pagayon celebrated his 74th birthday on Aug. 27. Three days before that, the FISPC, along with its supporters, conducted its fourth community outreach program in Sitio Suha, Norzagaray, Bulacan, with the Dumagat tribe as the main beneficiaries of the project.
As Region 2 celebrated the Regional Science and Technology Week of the Department of Science and Technology from Aug. 26 to 29, Pagayon received the Best Inventor Award in a ceremony at the Cagayan State University.
DOST regional director Engr. Sancho Mabborang, along with other Region 2 officials, presented the award to Pagayon.
Pagayon also received a plaque of appreciation as one of the judges in Region 2’s Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit and another plaque recognizing his effort as one of the guests in the celebration of the biennial regional event of DOST.
The award was presented by Technology Application and Promotion Institute director Edgar Garcia and Mabborang.
CSU president Jay Urduja, who hosted a birthday celebration for Pagayon, also presented the “inventrepreneur” a plaque of recognition on the same day at the CSU gym.
Pagayon is an active supporter of DOST’s science and technology programs. He is also a staunch advocate of fellow inventors, whose products he wants to promote commercially.
