Alaska will have to look for a new import for the coming 2019 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup.
The Aces’ first choice in Branden Dawson went over the 6-foot-5 height limit for imports and was deemed ineligible to play.
Dawson tipped in at 6-foot-5 and 1/4 yesterday when he was measured at the PBA office.
Now, the Aces need to scramble to find a new replacement.
Of the 12 teams, only Alaska is left without an import at this point.
The Aces are already in their preparations for the season-ending tournament under new coach Jeff Cariaso.
However, it is urgent for the team to find an import other than Dawson to be able to incorporate in the new system that it is implementing.
