Six domestic flights were cancelled on Sunday due to bad weather at the destination, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) reported.
These flights were: Cebu Pacific (5J) 771/772 Manila-Pagadian-Manila; 5J 781/782 Manila-Ozamis-Manila; Skyjet (M8) and 511/512 Manila-Camiguin-Manila.
Meanwhile, two domestic flights were delayed as a result of the red lightning alert at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from 12:13 p.m. to 12:33 p.m.
The two affected flights were 5J 449 Manila-Iloilo, and CebGo (DG) 6839 Manila-Del Carmen.
During a red lightning alert, the ramp movement for both aircraft and ramp personnel is temporarily suspended.
It is a safety measure to prevent any untoward incident from happening when lightning is prevalent in the immediate area and may endanger passengers, personnel, and flight operations.
