Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – The Philippine Sports Commission-Indigenous Peoples Games formally opened Friday with Mindanao State University (MSU)-Marawi City Professor Henry Daut headlining the IP Forum at the VJR Hall of the Provincial Capitol here.
Daut, also a PSC Consultant, who led all four previous forums last year, will tackle “Restoring the Heritage, Reliving the Past, and Rekindling the Spirit.”
Joining him is retired Professor Dr. Paul D. Jagmis, Sr. of the Municipality of Aborlan. He will discuss the Palawan IP Culture.
Philippine Sports Commission Commissioner Charles Raymond A. Maxey bared that some 50 participants are expected to attend the IP Forum, comprised of Social Sciences professors as well as tribal leaders.
“We sent out invitation letters to the Palawan State University and Western State University for educators as well as students who are Social Science majors,” Maxey said.
Maxey added he hopes that the tribal leaders will attend the forum to be educated on how to effectively continue the concept of the program in their respective communities.
The IP Forum is the education aspect of the Indigenous Peoples Games project.
