Moira dela Torre, Sam Mangubat, and juan karlos won big at the MOR Pinoy Music Awards 2019, the much-awaited recognition honoring OPM’s best held at the Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday, July 16.
Pinoy rock band, juan karlos, bagged the most coveted award—Song of the Year for the hit song “Buwan.” Meanwhile, retaining her title this year is Idol Philippines judge Moira after being named Female Artist of the Year for the second time around. She also got the Best Collaboration of the Year for the song “Kung ‘Di Rin Lang Ikaw’ with December Avenue.
The MOR Pinoy Music Awards also hailed singer-songwriter Sam Mangubat as Male Artist of the Year for his single “Pagkat Nariyan Ka.”
Apart from the awards, ABS-CBN’s FM station also decided to bring back its Band of the Year award by giving it to Ben & Ben for its famous song “Maybe the Night.”
MOR also recognized the contribution of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid in the OPM industry by awarding her the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Joining her in a special tribute were Jona, Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, Michael Pangilinan, and Katrina Velarde.
Other notable awardees are Maymay Entrata with LSS Song of the Year, Shanti Dope with Best New Artist, This Band with Digital Artist of the Year, Janine Teñoso with OPM Revival Song of the Year, Cup of Joe with Regional Song of the Year, and Alex Gonzaga with Phenomenal Artist of the Year.
OPM legends Jaya, Randy Santiago, Jamie Rivera, Renz Verano, Bituin Escalante, and Wency Cornejo, also graced the MOR Pinoy Music Awards.
