KSK Batch 203 winds up training

San Pablo City, Laguna—The gloomy weather did not ruin the excitement of 181 farmers, participants of SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training Program Batch 203, as they celebrated their Harvest Festival at Brgy. Soledad here.

Some of the 181 farmer-participants of the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training Program Batch 203 show off their produce at the SM Foundation-supported event in San Pablo, Laguna.

A short program that followed the festival included games with prizes sponsored by the SM Group, intermission numbers, and cooking competition by the trainees.

The following day, the participants gathered at SM City San Pablo for the graduation ceremony. They have been diligently attending the 12, week, long training program to learn new techniques in farming.

For them, it is an opportunity to better their lives, as they are taught not only the latest farming technology but basic entrepreneurship as well, SM and KSK officials said.

In receiving their certificates of completion, the graduates expressed their gratitude to SM Foundation and to its partner agencies represented by Ms. Eve Verzola, Mall Manager of SM City San Pablo; Ms. Nina Wong, PR Manager of SM City San Pablo; Ms. Jaymee Guinto, HR Manager of SM City San Pablo; Mr. Ramon Domingo, CRS Manager of SM City San Pablo;

Ms. Gretchen Alvarado, OIC of Supermarket, San Pablo; Ms. Yolly Gabuat, Operations Manager, SM Supermarket San Pablo; Mr. Guilbert Pagsinuhin of Harbest Agribusiness; Ms Elizabeth Mendoza, City Agriculturist of San Pablo City; Mr. Nap Calatraba, San Pablo City Councilor; and Mr. Rex Agarrado, co-owner of the demo farm site.
