Seasoned investors looking to bankroll novel startups

The Final Pitch, the Philippines’ first and only business reality TV show, is set to return for its fourth season on CNN Philippines in September. It connects aspiring entrepreneurs with some of the most established businessmen in the country.

“We are excited for this season’s run. We can’t wait for our entrepreneurs to grow their businesses with the help of our investor-judges,” says the show’s host and creator, John Aguilar. “Every season is different and has something new to offer. Our investors are looking forward to discovering our country’s newest set of rising entrepreneurs and hear their pitches and amazing stories.”

The Final Pitch begins with a screening; candidates make their initial pitch to the panel of investor-judges. The selected participants then proceed to a boot camp with mentoring sessions and challenges that allow investors to gain insights into the character of the entrepreneurs.

Their journey concludes with the “Final Pitch” to the investor judges, who in turn, will negotiate their final offer to the entrepreneurs. Both parties may or may not close a deal based on the offers.

The previous season’s investor-judges are set to return including Chief Executive Officer and founder of Mega Global Corporation William Tiu Lim. Just like last year, he’s looking for different businesses to diversify his investments and learn about other industries.

Meanwhile, tech-driven businessmen such as co-founding owner of Philippines AirAsia Congressman Mikee Romero, blockchain evangelist and Tagcash Ltd. founder Mark Vernon, and president and CEO of Baskin Robins Philippines Michael Dargani seek ventures that utilize technology in retail, food, education, power, and the financial technology space.

Returning to the show is season 2 millennial investor-judge Mica Tan, CEO of MFT Group of Companies. She seeks to create value in companies through capital, strategic insight, global relationships, and operational support.

Mentors for the season include Joel Santos of Thames International Business School, Junie del Mundo of EON The Stakeholder Relations Group, and Mark Gorriceta of Gorriceta Law.

“If the previous season’s entrepreneurs who joined the show are any indication, we can expect more sophisticated and mature startups coming into the fold as they see The Final Pitch as a legitimate way to raise funding for their next stage of growth,” adds Aguilar.

The Final Pitch is accepting applications until July 8. Applicants can fill out and submit an online entry form via TheFinalPitch.ph/application and submit their one-minute pitch video.
