GMA Network, through its Sales and Marketing Group (SMG), was recognized at the 2019 Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards for its advocacy campaign “Alaska-Puso”.
The GMA campaign in partnership with Alaska Milk Corporation which aimed to fight stunted growth among Filipino children bagged two Silver Awards under the Health & Wellness and Advocacy categories.
Alaska-Puso featured a two-minute unbranded advocacy short film about a day in the life of Angelo, a child with stunted growth, as told from his own perspective. The campaign also included an advocacy plug, presented by news anchors Mel Tiangco and Vicky Morales of 24 Oras along with Alaska-Puso moms, which called for unity among mothers to fight stunted growth.
Alaska also partnered with GMA Kapuso Foundation’s ‘Give-a-Gift: Feed a Child’ program to provide concrete help to undernourished and underprivileged children to fight the said problem.
The Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards is an annual event organized by the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) School of Communication that recognizes “creative and effective brands with purpose” from all over the region including Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
