The Metro Manila Development Authority on Friday advised commuters and motorists to brace for weekend traffic along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue and Circumferential Road 5.
The MMDA gave the go signal to the Department of Public Works and Highways to resume its weekend road repair in the area beginning at 11 p.m. Friday (May 31) until 5 a.m. on Monday (June 3).
With clearance from the MMDA, the road repair and reblocking activities of the DPWH—National Capital Region will cover the areas at Edsa, specifically the southbound directions from Monte de Piedad to Aurora Boulevard—Service Road, third lane from the sidewalk; from corner New York Street, first lane from the sidewalk; from corner Bansalangin Street, fronting Shell, third lane from the center island; from Magallanes to Baclaran Bus Stop, outer lane; and from Magallanes to Alabang Bus Stop, outer lane.
Repair works will also be undertaken at C-5 Road covering southbound direction fronting Market Market, outermost lane and from beside U-Turn slot near Market Market.
Other roads scheduled for repair include the northbound directions of Aurora Boulevard, from intersection of Five Star Bus Terminal, first and second lane from the sidewalk, intermittent section; and Quirino Highway, from fronting Novaliches Plaza Mall, first lane from the side walk.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes due to expected traffic buildup on affected areas.
