ABS-CBN News Channel, the 2019 Gawad Tanglaw Best TV News Station, gears up for its round-the-clock coverage of the May 13 midterm elections led by the country’s top news anchors Tina Monzon-Palma, Karen Davila, Lynda Jumilla, and Cathy Yang.
The 36-hour “Halalan 2019” coverage starts at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow until 6:00 p.m. of May 14. Viewers can expect live reports and up-to-the-minute updates delivered by ANC reporters in precincts around the country and around the world.
Also contributing to the comprehensive news coverage are key government officials like COMELEC spokesperson James Jimenez, political scientists Julio Teehankee, Edmund Tayao, and Francisco Magno, poll watchers from organizations like KontraDaya, YouthVote, and PPCRV, representatives from advocacy groups, and citizens, who will deliver in-depth analyses and developments during the national elections.
Aside from on-air and on-ground coverage, ANC will also provide up-to-date online news via Twitter (@ANCAlerts) and Facebook (www. facebook.comANCAlerts). Regular programming will resume at 6:01 pm on May 14.
Following the elections, ANC will also air the second edition of the election special “My Vote” on May 15 at 8:00 p.m. anchored by Monzon-Palma and Karmina Constantino. The special, whose first part aired on May 8, featured five voters from diverse backgrounds as they discussed their concerns about the country, their preferred criteria for candidates, and various issues. The second part will feature the same five voters talking about their experiences during the elections.
