Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya—The Department of Science and Technology has turned over drying facilities for community-based organizations in barangay Runruno here to boost their livelihood projects.
Engr. Jonathan Nuestro, DOST provincial chief, said the eight CBOs received a set of Portasol each, equipment that helps in drying grains products faster and cleaner.
The equipment was produced by the Filipino Investors Society Producer Cooperative.
“We thank the efforts of FCF Minerals Corp. for linking our services to the livelihood organizations. In this way, we can provide technical and equipment assistance to improve their livelihood projects,” Nuestro said.
He said that before the turnover, the recipient organizations were also oriented on how to use the Portasols.
The equipment was given to the livelihood organizations through a Memorandum of Agreement among the DOST, FCF Minerals and the recipient organizations.
FCF Minerals Corp. provides assistance to various livelihood organizations in this town as part of their Social Development and Management Program. FCF operates the gold-molybdenum project in Barangay Runruno.
