“In partnership with CLAARRDEC, we have developed many researches and technologies to improve goat industry, and these technologies must reach you,” said Dr. Edwin Villar, Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development deputy executive director for Research and Development, in his keynote address.

These technologies are generated from the PCAARRD-funded projects on goat, Villar said. Since 2006, funding of P150 million to P200 million was used on goat research projects.

“The FIESTA we have now is not the typical fiesta. Our event is for you to learn the goat technologies we have developed,” he told goat farmers and entrepreneurs.

The two-day event includes technology pitching, local products exhibit, goat show, meat processing contest, sharing of goat success stories, goat meat culinary contest, and poster-making.

Noveras said: “This FIESTA event is certain to open opportunities and should inspire you to strive more. I hope more goat farmers will join the next event.”

The governor also announced he already approved the use of provincial lot as goat demonstration center.

PCAARRD Applied Communication Division Director Marita Carlos and other officers of the council also attended the event.

FIESTA aims to showcase researches and technologies developed by PCAARRD consortium members in the fields of agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources.
