The 30th TBAM Easter Open Bowling Championship 2019, presented by Boysen Paints, attracted 280 participants all over the country at the Superbowl in Cinema Square in Makati City.
Organized by the TBAM board of directors, headed by its President Dante Fuentes and Vice President Alfonso Chua, the annual tournament will have the categories on Mixed Open, Men’s Graded, Men’s Associate, Men’s Seniors, Ladies’ Seniors, Mixed Ladies, Mixed Youth and Mixed 15-and-under.
“Since this is the 30th anniversary of the open, we all gave the incentives to the bowlers. We increased the cash prize in the masters from P60,000 to P70,000,” said Chua, adding that the total cash prizes of the competition is around P600,000.
“We’re expecting more bowlers from different clubs and national team to compete in the tournament,” added Chua.
The annual tournament, which started on Easter Sunday and will be held until April 28, is sponsored by Boysen Paints and Prima Pasta.
The defending champion in the mixed open is Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships gold medalist Merwin Tan.
