As the world eagerly await the eighth and final season of the hit TV show Game of Thrones, Johnnie Walker kicked off the celebration with a party featuring its limited edition blend inspired by the chilling White Walkers.
On March 28, just a few weeks before the premiere of the first episode of GoT’s final season, Johnnie Walker created a massive White Walker pop-up at Whitespace Manila.
The different areas put the spotlight on the flavors and textures of the different Johnnie Walker variants—the fire and zest of Red Label, the darkness and smoke of Black Label, the celebratory vibe and honey taste of Gold Label, and the richness and opulence of Blue Label. Shortly after, guests were sent into a halt before a colossal ice wall. The giant structure soon met a chilling collapse to reveal an ice bar: a shrine for White Walker by Johnnie Walker.
White Walker by Johnnie Walker is created in collaboration with HBO and Game of Thrones. It is created by whisky specialist George Harper alongside the small team of expert blenders at Johnnie Walker.
This innovative whisky is best served directly from the freezer at 1.5 degrees, echoing the chilling presence of the White Walkers. It’s a great, easy-drinking whisky featuring notes of caramelized sugar and vanilla and fresh red berries with a touch of orchard fruit—creating a polished, sweet taste with a fruity twist.
The event brought together celebrities and personalities who are also some of the show’s biggest fans in the country, namely Nico Bolzico, Tim Yap, Alodia Gosiengfiao, Sam YG, Patty Tiu, and Myrrh Lao To, to help bring to life the immersive journey to the Frozen North.
“We are culminating the Johnnie Flavor Festival, a month-long celebration of the many labels of Johnnie Walker, and White Walker by Johnnie Walker has become our final showcase,” shared Cesar Gangoso, marketing director of Diageo Philippines.
He added, “Game of Thrones has made such a mark in pop culture, and we are positive that White Walker by Johnnie Walker will give fans a taste of Frozen North.”
Following the epic event, White Walker by Johnnie Walker will march to Poblacion, Makati for a series of pre-season events, as well as Season 8 viewing parties for fans to enjoy.
