Model Maureen Montagne missed winning a rare back-to-back victory at the recently concluded Miss Eco International pageant held in Cairo, Egypt.
The 24-year-old Fil-American beauty was named first runner-up to Miss Peru Suheyn Cipriani who bested more than 60 delegates from around the world and was crowned by Cynthia Thomalla of the Philippines.
Miss USA Jordan Elizabeth finished as 2nd runner-up while Miss Ukraine Diana Voliakova and Miss Malaysia Amy Nurtinie were 3rd and 4th runners-up, respectively. The Top10 semi-finalists were Miss France Chloe Jovenin, Miss Japan Nanami Tomita, Miss Ecuador Jocelyn Zambrano, Miss Indonesia Ratu Vashti Annisa, and Miss Paraguay Irene Azcona.
Special awards were given to Miss Ecuador, Best National Costume; Miss Malaysia, Best Eco Dress and Miss Indonesia, Best Eco Video.
In the Q&A round, Montagne was asked about what she would like to tell her younger self. The Film-Am beauty answered that she would tell her about her beauty and worth despite the standards of society, and that she has able to reach the goals she set her mind to.
Shortly after the pageant, she took to Instagram to thank everyone who supported her and who had been part of her incredible journey in the pageant.
The Arizona, USA-based model and host won Miss USA Arizona 2015 and Miss Century Tuna Superbods 2018.
