Quezon City, the country’s Smart City, recently ended its 4th Animation and Information Technology Fair themed “Quezon City towards Future Technology” at the QCX Museum inside the Quezon Memorial Circle.
Organized by the QC Information and Technology Development Office, QCAIT 2019 ran from February 26 to 28 and presented animation and information technology trends to the city’s junior and senior high school students and other attendees.
The three-day fair offered mixed reality and vertical reality experiences, gallery displays, as well as demonstrations by industry partners.
The fair also held digital drawing animation, 3D modelling and experimental animation competitions, as well as lectures and seminars on Microsoft education program, online security, digital photography, augmented reality and virtual reality in motion design, and Microsoft mixed reality.
The QCITDO announced during the fair that it is studying the use of artificial intelligence technology to improve the services of the city government
“For example, I need a business permit. A program would tell me what I need to do to get the permit easily,” QCITDO head Reynaldo Paul Magbanua Imjada explained.
The QC Schools Division Office commended the administration of Mayor Herbert Bautista in organizing the fair in the past four years.
“We don’t have this in the schools. So, the students’ exposure to these facilities are a great help to them,” QC division superintendent Dr. Natividad Bayubay said.
