After falling short in his first assignment this year, Filipino hard-hitter Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado vowed to come back stronger.
The 26-year-old knockout artist yielded to former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke of Thailand via second-round technical knockout in their rematch at ONE: CALL TO GREATNESS last Friday, 22 February.
Miado looked good early on but looked weary in the second round, allowing Dejdamrong to capitalize and take the hard-earned win.
“It was a tough loss, I felt very weak on that night. I had a hard time making the required weight, which was the main reason our match became a catchweight bout,” he said.
“I’m not making any excuses, Dejdamrong was the better man that night, he came prepared and determined to win.”
If there is one good thing about the loss, Miado was shown exactly the things that he needs to moving forward.
Following that defeat, he quickly went back to the drawing board to reassess what went wrong.
“It made me realize the things I still need to work on in my overall game. I learned a lot and it will definitely help me grow as an athlete and motivates me to step up my game further," he stated.
“There are a lot of things that can be learned from my bout with Dejdamrong. It’s one of the good sides of losing."
Now he is hoping to complete an epic trilogy with Dejdamrong, though he knows he needs a bounce back win to get there.
That’s exactly what he is targetting now.
“I am motivated to become better and will definitely come back stronger," he declared. "I will focus more on developing my mixed martial arts tools and hopefully get my first win this year and a possible trilogy with Dejdamrong.”
