"Digital assets, anyone?"
Cryptocurrencies are hot, real, and profitable!
One of my favorite alternative investment funds—the Stonegate Diversified Digital Asset Master Fund—announced 2018 results, continuing its record of significant outperformance of both the cryptocurrency market specifically and overall asset markets generally. The fund launched October 2017, and has generated inception to date returns of 638 percent! For 2018, the fund generated 8.56 percent, versus the average crypto related hedge fund which have had average losses of approximately—70 percent during the year.
The Stonegate Diversified Digital Asset Master Fund, which is Stonegate Global Financial Group’s flagship Blockchain/digital asset fund, is one the best performing Blockchain technology and digital asset hedge funds in the world, and manages both liquid and illiquid investments. The fund makes opportunistic illiquid investments including venture capital and private equity, as well as security token offerings, which are also used to provide some level of liquidity back to the fund when possible. Stonegate Diversified manages multiple discretionary and systematic quantitative and arbitrage strategies trading long/short liquid exchange-traded digital assets, tokens, and cryptocurrencies, and acts as a fund of funds in select situations. The fund uses dynamic tactical asset allocation, which is deployed for the objective of increasing performance and minimizing drawdowns and volatility.
Stonegate Global Financial Group is a diversified financial services company and an industry leader in the global alternative investment funds business. The company is headquartered in the United States in Atlanta, GA, with satellite offices and staff in numerous cities including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Macau, Hong Kong, and Manila. The firm’s founder, CEO, and my friend, John McCorvey III, has over 25 years of experience in the institutional and alternative investments space, and is an alumni of the Harvard Business School’s executive education program. The firm’s senior management team all have between 15 and 25 years of industry experience as well.
The organization’s investment management arm, Stonegate Digital Capital Group, is a private equity firm that holds an interest in numerous alternative investment fund products including hedge funds, venture capital funds, real estate, cannabis funds (yes, you read that right, and highly profitable too!), as well as various Blockchain technology and digital assets funds.
The Stonegate Diversified fund’s inception to date performance from October 2017 through December 2018 is over 638 percent, whereas the overall market was down approximately—12 percent during this same time period. In 2018, the fund was up over 8 percent while the rest of the market was down approximately—70 percent. Since opening to outside investors in April 2018, the fund is up over 91 percent.
Stonegate Diversified was an early investor in three of the biggest unicorn deals in the space, including Telegram, a highly successful messaging app; Binance, the world’s biggest bitcoin exchange; and Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
Having been involved in the Blockchain technology and digital asset space since late 2014, the Stonegate team has a number of key strengths and consider the following as their competitive edge:
• Significant expertise in all facets of the alternative investment industry as well as the Blockchain technology and digital asset sector.

• Their management team and board of advisors experience ranges from former Morgan Stanley managing directors, to current Apollo Capital partners, former Credit Suisse First Boston senior managers, a former Disney President, all with between 15 to 30 years of experience in the institutional investments arena.
