Police seize P2.8-million ecstasy tablets, other drugs

Authorities seized P2.8 million worth of ecstasy tablets and assorted illegal drugs and arrested four high-value drug personalities in a buy-bust operation in Makati City late Friday.

In an advisory on Saturday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said suspects Ruth Anne Mabalay, Sarah Mae Mabalay, Tetsuya Tristan Reyes, and Ryan Christopher Somera were arrested in a buy-bust operation at 18G A. Venue Suits in Makati City.

Members of the raiding team confiscated 73 transparent plastic sachets containing 380 tablets of suspected ecstasy; one self-sealed plastic sachet containing five capsules of suspected ecstasy; 30 pieces of self-sealed plastic sachets in different sizes weighing approximately 200 grams of suspected cocaine; four pieces of self-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 35 grams of suspected Kush (hybrid marijuana); 23 assorted bottles containing approximately one liter of suspected liquid ecstasy; and several other types of drugs placed in small bottles, assorted drug paraphernalia and marked money.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
