The Table Tennis Association of North District-Joola captured the men’s and women’s team titles recently of the 2019 Philippine National Police Cup National Invitational Table Tennis Championships at the PNP Gymnasium in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
TATAND-Joola, composed of ex-national player Julius Esposo, John Russel Misal, Charlie Lim and Philip Uy, blasted Hua Ching Mandaue of Bill Yap, Handel Yap, Zoren Mendiola, Val Stephen Jaca and Francis Bendebel, 3-2, to win the men’s team plum.
University of Perpetual Help DALTA System and TATAND Philippine Army settled both for third place, also in the men’s category of the tournament sanctioned by the Table Tennis Association of the Philippines and Philippine Sports Commission.
Keith Rhynne Cruz and Kaela Aguilar of TATAND-Joola dominated TATAND’s Crisanta Abas and Lovely Gabisay, 3-2, to win the women’s title of the tournament supported by San Miguel Corporation, PNP, PSSLAI, AIMM Builder and Construction Supply.
College of Saint Benilde and UC-PNP ALTRUIST settled for third place.
PNP FEO Team of PSSUPT Michael John Dubria, Arch. Emon Anonitalia and Ervin Bomban won the executive team division by beating PNP NHQ of PSSUPT Conrado Gongon, PSUPT Romeo Panal and PO3 Vicente Supil, 3-2, to secure the title.
“Winners in this tournament are medal potentials in the upcoming 30th SEA Games if given a chance to represent our country,” said TATAP President Jose Ortalla Jr. “We are also thankful to the PSC for supporting us in our endeavors.”
