Home during Dinagyang

One of the much-awaited festivals in the Philippines, Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City has become more and more exciting with must-see competitions, pageants, and other events and activities.

Highlights include the Fluvial Procession, the Kasadyahan Cultural Parade, and the Dinagyang Ati Competition. There are also a number of fun events around the city that showcases not just the history and heritage of the Ilonggos, but also their exuberant spirit and warm hospitality which has earned them their City of Love title.

Richmonde Hotel Iloilo offers special promotions during the festival, from Jan. 25 to 27. Stay in a well-appointed deluxe room for a nightly rate of P8,500 nett, in a premier room for P9,000 nett, and in a one-bedroom suite for P15,500 nett. 

All rates are valid for single or double occupancy and inclusive of taxes and service charge. 

Accommodations include a hearty breakfast buffet for two adults and two children 5 years old and below, Wi-Fi access, and use of the Fitness Center’s gym and swimming pool.  

On Jan. 26, the hotel presents a heritage dinner buffet, dubbed “Tabu-an sa Dinagyang,” featuring the heirloom dishes of Iloilo’s premier chef, Rafael “Tibong” Jardeleza. 

A staunch advocate of preserving and promoting Ilonggo cuisine, Chef Tibong aims to educate the public on the true identity of Iloilo food that is much broader than the usual batchoy, pancit molo, and KBL. Chef Tibong’s specialties to be served include roasted lamb, lechon, lengua con setas oliva, tenderloin steak, and many more. 

Richmonde’s very own Chef Jeffrey Ticao and his kitchen team will also showcase delectable treats like kinilaw na isda, paella negra, paella valenciana, pancit guisado, almondigas, and various street food fare.

“Tabu-an sa Dinagyang” starts at 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the hotel’s pool deck area on the 7th floor. Tickets to the dinner buffet are priced at P2,000 nett per person, each ticket includes bottles of San Mig Light Beer and bottomless lemonade.
