The city led 240 other awardees in the DILG’s first list of local government units that have “best practices and programs in the anti-illegal drug campaign.”

Mayor Herbert Bautista welcomed the recognition.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año commended the Quezon City government and other local governments for their support and effort in their drive against illegal drugs.

“The war on drugs is fought in the LGU level and we are satisfied with the phase of LGUs in the drug war,” he said.
