The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Friday that its operatives killed fomer Parang, Maguindanao Mayor Talib Abo in an anti-drug operation.
Abo had earlier been tagged for his alleged involvement in transporting drugs to Davao City.
The PDEA said Abo chose to fight it out with its agents when he was served a search warrant in his home in Cotabato, according to PDEA-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
His brother Bobby Abo was also killed in a separate operation by virtue of a search warrant.
Separate warrants were also served in the homes of Amelia Abo, daughter of Talib Abo and an incumbent Parang councilor running for the vice mayor post, and a certain Bai Amy Abo.
However, there was no contraband found in Amelia Abo's home, but a pistol and drugs were found inside Bai Amy Abo’s house.
