DMCI Homes recently unveiled its newest design feature which gives residents an opportunity to appreciate the cityscape, literally on the edge of a high-rise structure.
Dubbed as “extended sky lounge,” the innovation is a variation of DMCI Homes’ roof deck function area called “sky lounge,” extending beyond the edge of the structure reminiscent of the Marina Bay Sands’ Skypark in Singapore, and Al Muntaha Restaurant in Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
“Inspired by our Lumiventt® design technology, we were looking for something new, something that would offer a ‘wow’ factor for a new building feature,” explained senior architect Francis Villagonzalo, referring to DMCI Homes’ design of maximizing natural light and ventilation in its buildings through several three-storey high sky patios.
“We came up with the idea of an extended sky lounge at the roof-deck which creates an impression of a ‘floating effect’ while one is admiring the city views,” he said.
First to use the design feature is the Brio Tower in Guadalupe Viejo, Makati whose construction drawing details were done by senior architect Analee Choco.
The design feature will also be applied in the Lavender building of DMCI Homes’ Calathea Place development in Dr. A. Santos Ave. Parañaque City.
