Revitalize or equalize?
That’s the question to be answered by Magnolia and Alaska as they resume their best-of-seven championship showdown in the 2018 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup.
With momentum on their side, the Aces are looking to even the series up, while the Hotshots, on the other hand, will look to move closer to the title as they do battle once again in Game 4 at 7 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tonight.
After lackluster performances in the Finals’ opening two games, Alaska was finally able to get over the hump in Game 3 last Sunday, putting up its best game of the conference to blow out Magnolia, 100-77, and get itself back in the series.
Still, the Hotshots remain in the driver’s seat with its 2-1 lead.
Magnolia coach Chito Victolero is positive that his team can bounce back strong after a poor Game 3 showing.
“We did not play our best in that game and we hope to recover and get back to what we were doing right in the first two games,” said Victolero.
On the contrary, Alaska coach Alex Compton hopes his team can sustain its groove as it has an opportunity to square the series.
“We showed great defensive effort and amazing shots. We didn’t commit much turnovers and we played defense with great intensity in Game 3,” said Compton. “We’re still down 1-2 so we need to keep doing all those things to get one more.”
