Stunning images of nature from around the world come alive for Philippine audiences as ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra presents National Geographic’s Symphony for Our World, a musical and visual journey through some of the world’s most incredible scenes, on Nov. 30 (Friday), 3:00 p.m. (matinee) and 8:00 p.m. (gala) at the Theatre at Solaire.
Symphony for Our World is a dynamic orchestral and choral work set against National Geographic’s most iconic images taken over the past 130 years. The five-part symphony brings viewers from the depths of the sea, up to the coastlines, onto land, through mountains and finally into the sky. Each environment is accompanied by an orchestral movement, resulting in a powerful musical tribute to the beauty and wonders the world.
The spectacle of sight and sound will be performed by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga with special guest, Ateneo Chamber Singers.
A project of National Geographic and Jason Michael Paul Entertainment, Symphony for Our World was composed by Emmy and BAFTA-nominated Bleeding Fingers Music composers Austin Fray and Andrew Christie and has been performed in cities around the world since April this year.
“Combining 130 years of National Geographic’s stunning visual storytelling with original music from award-winning composers will bring the story of our planet to life in a truly special way for audiences all over the world,” said Rosa Zeegers, Executive Vice President, Consumer Products and Experiences at National Geographic Partners.
Composed of 42 musicians under the baton of Maestro Gerard Salonga, the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra is established through the collaborative effort of ABS-CBN and First Philippine Holdings Corp. For updates on ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra’s latest events, follow facebook.com/ABSPhilharmonic.
