Suzuki Philippines, Inc. upholds its commitment of improving the lives of Filipinos nationwide by working yet again with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. SPH donated 16 vehicle units for use in two of ALKFI’s flagship programs, Bantay Bata 163 and Bantay Kalikasan.
The vehicles consist of two Super Carry utility vans and 14 A-X4 motorcycles. The Suzuki multifunction utility automobiles and 2 units of motorcycles will support the operations of Bantay Bata Children’s Village and Bantay Kalikasan headquarters at the La Mesa Eco Park. The remaining 12 A-X4s will be used in Bantay Kalikasan regional sites around the country such as Laguna, Romblon, Palawan, Samar, Leyte, Iloilo, Davao and Saranggani.
The Bantay Bata 163 program oversees and protects children’s rights and well-being while Bantay Kalikasan promotes sustainability and environment management.
“We’re very proud and honored to be part of another ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation project that seeks to give back and contribute to the development of our nation and its citizens. As we face more complicated challenges today, we need more than ever to take collective action to ensure a bright future for our youth and to drive the nation forward. As such, we encourage everyone to join us and support this meaningful campaign,” shared Suzuki Philippines, Inc. President Hiroshi Suzuki.
The collaboration between SPH and ALKFI, a duly-registered non-stock, non-profit organization focused on development programs for strategic sectors in the Philippines, started in 2013 through Sagip Kapamilya or Operation Sagip efforts. Sagip Kapamilya, which is one of ALKFI’s three flagship programs, aimed to provide relief and assistance to calamity-stricken areas through rehabilitation and sustainable projects.
SPH has continued to support the other projects of ALKFI in their five fruitful years of partnership. Earlier this year, the two organizations teamed up for the One Suzuki for Marawi Campaign, one of the partnership’s biggest advocacy projects yet. Through the campaign, which was held at the Raider R150 Summit at the World Trade Center in Manila and Tagum City in Davao, SPH and ALKFI, together with the Suzuki community of riders, dealers, partners and employees, were able to collect P3.6 million in cash donations for the recovery and rehabilitation of Marawi City.
“Thank you so much to ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. for always inviting us to take part in their noble efforts to help those in need. We at Suzuki Philippines are always looking for opportunities to reach even more sectors of the society, in particular supporting efforts for the environment and the youth. We hope our beloved Suzuki units will be of good use in Bantay Bata and Bantay Kalikasan activities,” said SPH Vice President and General Manager for Automobile Shuzo Hoshikura.
ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. Board Member Gina Lopez, Managing Directo Susan Afan, Chief Financial Officer Lita Lara, Bantay Kalikasan Program Director Jen Santos and Bantay Bata Program Director Jing Reyes were joined by Suzuki Philippines Inc. President Hiroshi Suzuki and Managing Director Norminio Mojica during the turnover of automobile and motorcycle units.
“Truly, it has been an honor and a privilege to work with our ABS-CBN Foundation family in this effort of taking a humble part in the holistic development of our community. As mentioned by President Suzuki, it is a high-time for all of us to actively participate in overcoming the issues that challenge our society today and this is our way of lending hands to other cause,” shared SPH Managing Director Norminio Mojica.
