Gurus unravel secrets to success

Running and growing a business requires being the right person for the job – something that is more often than not overshadowed by most entrepreneurs’ immense passions.

But business growth is only one part of the story. To sustain this development, one must also evolve alongside the business – whether as an entrepreneur, as a boss, or as a person.

“When leaders and coaches consistently adopt effective approaches to strategic coaching and coaching for holistic happiness in work and life, they are able to reap the tremendous benefit of developing a high-performance organization with strongly engaged people that formulates and executes the right goals and strategies,” said Dr. Peter Chee, president and chief executive of ITD World and one of the world’s top coaching gurus and best-selling authors.

ITD World president and CEO Dr. Peter Chee

Chee was in Manila recently for a short talk and signing of his books, “12 Disciplines of Leadership Excellence” and “The Leader’s Daily Role in Talent Management” at the National Bookstore at Glorietta 1, Makati City.

Considered to be one of the best in his field, Chee is the first Asian to be ranked in the top 9 coaching gurus of the world and holds the distinction of training and developing leaders from 80 countries.

Most of those who dream of starting their own business often think that starting is the hardest part of the job – but it is not. Sustaining the business after the immense high of starting it is the hardest part – when reality sets in that there is too little one knows about the business or running it.

ITD Philippines country head  Serely Alcaraz

For Serely Alcaraz, the country’s leading master trainer, coaching should not only be limited to the business owners but also to key people in the organization.

“We’ve often heard the challenge: ‘innovate or die.’Innovation has become top priority for organizations and individuals who want to thrive under relentless disruptive change, economic upheaval and ever-increasing competition,” said Alcaraz, who is also the chief coach and country head of ITD World.

“Organizations now find ways to create a culture of creativity and innovation, maximize capability and engagement of their key talents, and jumpstart the implementation of out-of-the-box ideas and creative solutions. Leaders play a critical role in making this happen,” she said.

Ideally, the business owner, the employees, and the business grow together. With each one learning from the other and seeing challenges from various perspectives, this creates a better understanding of the business and how best to deal with various situations that may come along.

Dr. Chee and Alcaraz will come together in Manila on Oct. 26 for the CEO, HR and Senior Leaders Conference.  Chee will share key concepts and best practices on how to achieve sustainable success and holistic happiness, while Alcaraz will teach participants tips and techniques on how to drive creativity and innovation in their organizations.

Joining them is Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, recognized by Harvard Business Review as the world’s number one leadership thinker.  Goldsmit will be sharing his executive coaching secrets, and his bestselling book: Triggers.

The conference is an ITD event for top-level leaders, entrepreneurs, and HR, organizational development and training professionals.
