The Tarlac Heritage Foundation and the Philippine Army have inaugurated the Hardin ng Lunas Gazebo—a living testimony of their stakeholders’ cooperation to advance vegetable farming and gardening among the military—at Camp General Servillano Aquino in San Miguel, Tarlac City.
Through the efforts of the foundation led by Dr. Isa Cojuangco Suntay and Maj. Gen. Joselito M. Reyes, commander of the Army Support Command or Ascom, the garden’s pond has been restocked with tilapia, the gazebo has been decorated and now serves as a hanging garden for kangkong (water spinach), petchay (cabbage), and mustasa (mustard).
Tarlac Heritage also donated 106 trees for landscaping and lumber, along with hundreds of beautiful flowers for the garden.
Attending the turnover following its renovation and repairs were Suntay, Reyes, Ascom commandant Lt. Col. Romeo E Cabanalan, and with their staff and personnel, representing Army commanding general Lt. Gen Rolando Joselito D Bautista and Lt. Gen Emmanuel Salamat, Northern Luzon Command chief.
