JOHANN See fired a gross 72 to capture the low gross championship while Carina Ricamonte took the low net crown with a 68 from a gross 74 as they shared the spotlight in the Highlands Ladies Cup at Tagaytay Midlands Golf and Country Club recently.
Siblings Junro and Jordan Mamaril came through with identical net 69s but the former, a 5-handicapper, nipped the latter in the count back (five bogeys) to snare the Group A diadem in the 13th staging of the annual event backed by Diamond sponsors Auto Nation Group, Inc., Pacific Online and W Group.
Gerry Romualdez bagged the Group B title with a net 69 from a gross 98, beating Antonio Reyes, who made a net 72 from a gross 93, while Joel Javier shot a net 74 and edged Grover Guillermo in the count back (five bogeys) for the Group C crown.
Ren Son carded a net 70 from a gross 89 to beat Abby Lapid by one for top honors in the ladies division of the 18-hole fun-filled tournament supported by Powerball Gaming, San Miguel Corp. and Security Bank as Platinum sponsors, Kaiser Health Group and Royal Caribbean Int’l as Gold backers and ComWorks Inc., Fitness First, HBC, Huawei Philippines, Leisure and Resort World Corp., Lucerne, New Golden City Builders, PLDT-SME, Regent Travel Corp. and SM Retail as Silver sponsors.
Willy Malida, on the other hand, turned in a net 70 from a gross 98 to clinch the seniors division title over Bum Chil Heo, who settled for a 71 from a gross 84.
