OVER 400 multisport enthusiasts from kids to triathlon veterans, test their swim and run skills at the Sun Life Aquathlon Series Championship on Oct. 14 (Sunday).
Now on its second year, the Sun Life Aquathlon organized by Bike King will be held in the scenic suburban community of Vermosa in Imus, Cavite. The event is also supported by Arena, Saucony, Robinsons Supermarket, Vermosa Sports Hub, official timekeeper TIMEX, and hydration partner Gatorade.
“Sun Life is happy to nurture Filipinos’ interest in becoming fitter and healthier through sports,” said Sun Life chief marketing officer Mylene Lopa.
The Sun Life Aquathlon is the perfect race in a fun setting for multisport newbies, active families, and seasoned triathletes. Kids aged 7 to 67 can test their swim and run skills in age-appropriate distances as individual participants or in relay teams. Categories range from a 100-meter swim and a 600-meter run for 7-8 year -olds to a 500-meter swim and 5-km run for 15 years old and above.
The Sun Life Aquathlon Series Championship is also the final event of four swim-run competitions in 2018. The top 20 finishers of each aquathlon are awarded points from races held earlier (the Vermosa Aquathlon, Animo Aquathlon, Island Cove Aquathlon, and the Aquaman) and the Sun Life Aquathlon in a bid to vie for the honor of being named the top aquathlete for 2018 in their age group.
The top age-group aquathletes of the championship series, along with the winners of the Sun Life Aquathlon will be awarded specially designed trophies and gift packs on Sunday.
