One of the largest bottling facilities of Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines, KOFPH, has been recognized by the City of Santa Rosa in Laguna for its contributions to environmental stewardship and economic development.
The KOFPH Santa Rosa plant received four awards from the local government unit and its partner organizations during the 2018 Lions Awards and Green Awards Night for the City of Santa Rosa.
The plant was awarded the Sustainable Development Partner Award for its exceptional contribution and unwavering support to environmental protection and the economic progress of the city.
The Silakbo Sponsor 2018: Beyond Our Commitment to Sustainability award was also given to the plant for its significant contribution to the city’s environmental advocacy program, which seeks to conserve and protect the Santa Rosa Sub-Watershed.
“We are grateful that the City of Santa Rosa has recognized our efforts in the conservation and preservation of the environment. Sustainability has always been embedded in our operations—it is part of Coca-Cola FEMSA’s DNA,” said Juan Lorenzo Tañada, director for Corporate and Regulatory Affairs of Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines.
“We have always sought to be in the forefront of the industry in terms of sustainable practices in our manufacturing process by promoting efficient and responsible management of water and energy,” Tañada added.
“We do not stop there—we continue to find ways on how to further improve. More than a business, we are partners of the local government and we share the same vision with them in the importance of protecting the environment,” he said.
The 19 bottling facilities of Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines across the country have reduced their absolute water consumption by 25 percent, saving more than four billion liters of water from 2014 to June 2018; and have started to integrate renewable energy into their operations.
Aside from the environmental awards, Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines was also recognized as one of the Top 10 Business Taxpayers of the city and as a hall of fame awardee in the Top Realty Taxpayer category of the Lion Awards for Business of the City of Santa Rosa.
