Hermosa”•About 20 locals were trained in scientific sustainable pig farming and will be aided by the provincial government to be able to start their own livelihood.
“They will be given native pigs by the provincial government for them to grow. As part of the program, they will return one offspring to be given to others,” said Board Member Benjie Serrano who is the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture.
“The beneficiaries graduated from 6-month training in sustainable pig farming,” said the board member who together with Provincial Veterinarian Alberto Venturina attended the graduation program held a few days ago in Barangay Pandatung, Hermosa.
The provincial veterinarian said the pigs to be distributed will come from DA regional office.
Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton has full support to the project as he sent his representative in the graduation ceremony of his benefitting constituents.
“Local folks are truly very grateful to the training on sustainable pig farming, which happened through the leadership of Gov. Garcia,” the board member concluded.
