Balanga City”•The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Bataan is full support to the 1 Million Trees for 1Bataan Challenge launched by the provincial government on Monday.
“We will be fully supporting the challenge, there must be coordinated effort for the success of the project,” Penro officer Raul Mamac earlier said during the tree-planting activity in Barangay Mabayo, Morong in celebration of the Civil Service Commission 118th year anniversary.
“The media can also help in the information dissemination,” he told as he urged this writer to cover the launching of the 1M41B.
“We can see the serious effort of Gov. Abet Garcia for the protection and conservation of the environment”, Mamac said.
Representing him, DENR Bataan Division Chief Mila Ramirez and CENRO Bagac Ed Laggui attended the launching of the project. Mamac was in Metro Manila for an official function.
Ramirez, as part of the launching ceremony, reported DENR Bataan’s accomplishment particularly the National Greening Program, which has covered more than 10,000 hectares in the province.
Aside from NGP, DENR Bataan is focusing in the implementation of Manila Bay Cleanup, mangrove propagation, and coral protection, among others.
