The airport will be repaired and rehabilitated  after Typhoon “Jebi” caused extensive damage to its facilities and access roads.

The airline made the announcement even as Malacañang on Thursday extended prayers to the people affected by the 6.7-magnitude earthquake felt in northern Japan.

“Our prayers to the people of Japan who were affected by a powerful magnitude 6.7 earthquake that struck their northern region this morning,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement.

“The Department of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor the situation and stays in touch with the leaders of the Filipino community in Hokkaido to check the condition of our countrymen there and to ensure that everyone is safe and accounted for.”
