Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez (second from left) unveiled during his recent birthday the four major building projects of his administration—the Materials Recovery Facility, the City Motorpool, the Animal Shelter, and the Socializing Housing (pictured here), all located at the C-5 Extension in Barangay La Huerta. About 3,000 informal settlers living along the banks of the city’s waterways were relocated at the new two-story mid-rise buildings in cooperation with the Habitat for Humanity, Rotary Club International, and Gawad Kalinga. Olivarez was assisted by his wife Janet, Vice Mayor Rico Golez, PIO Chief Mar Jimenez, and other city officials.
