Araneta Group officials and executives from partner Megawide Construction Corporation recently broke ground on the site for a new mall in the Cubao area. The activity was led by senior officials from Araneta namely SVP-operations Antonio T. Mardo; SVP-business development John B. Castelo; VP-leasing Ms. Lorna D. Fabian; VP-materials management Noel B. Leonor; head of architecture Bernadette M. Tan; senior management consultant Rowell Recinto; and management consultant-architecture and engineering Julie I. Castro. Officials from Megawide were AVP Romeo Furigay; and EVP Ronald Paulo. Aside from offering spaces for retail and F&B operators, the Gateway Mall 2 will have a cineplex with nine theaters; an organic vegetable garden on the rooftop where diners can customize their meals and have a farm-to-table experience; an activity area where events, bazaars, and other activities will be held; a gourmet food; and a 500-seater chapel. The mall, which will be connected to the Smart Araneta Coliseum and Farmers Plaza, is expected to open in 2020.
